Yoga is well known for the benefits it offers to the mind and the body. There is a new trend though which is yoga for the face. This involves moving the facial muscles into certain positions. Among them are the lion face to stretch muscles and reduce tension, fish face to firm up the cheeks and lips, and what is referred to as satchmo which also offers benefits for the cheeks.

The process is designed to offer a natural method for reducing signs of aging that isn’t dangerous or invasive. It is a safer option than considering Botox or plastic surgery. Those options are dangerous and they are also very expensive.

There are plenty of reports to indicate the introduction of facial yoga can get results. Annelise Hagen is the creator of it, and she is the founder of New York Yoga. She has also written books on the subject and recently she was interviewed on Good Morning America. Her goal is to share with people that there are natural techniques that can be incorporated to reduce signs of aging on the face. According to Hagen, you have to make particular faces though to get results.

By following the right procedures, a person can tone the muscles in the face. There is scientific evidence that proves such activities for the facial muscles can help increase the amount of elastin and collagen that the body produces. As a person ages, the natural production of them are reduced and that can cause saggy skin as well as wrinkles.

The role of facial yoga is to enable someone to reduce the way their face ages from a new approach. It works from the inside out. This type of facial yoga is recommended by some of the top dermatologists including Dr. Neil Sadick. He continues to refer it to patients that want to see changes. He believes it will help them to increase the collagen levels that they need for healthier skin. He also promotes it as a safer option than Botox or getting a chemical peel.

Some of the top yoga and Pilate instructors out there including Jan O’Connell are offering face yoga classes. They are seeing a huge demand for it and want to offer consumers what they are looking for. The classes are easy, fun, and involve using a mirror to make the faces into. People can’t help leaving feeling relaxed and calm after the class either.
